‘The children were playing,
they saw me on the wall.
a spider, just sitting,
not moving at all.’

work just like an ear,
parts of these hairs
are called trichobothria.’

I said pointing up
to a patch that was bare.’

A toy from the bath
and dries it along
a velvety path.’

The A page of The Alphabet Book. This differs from other Alphabet books because of the use of the both types of lowercase 'A’. Something that every child comes across and is baffled by to start with.

Background for the A page of The Alphabet Book, depicting numerous items beginning with the letter A.
The B page of The Alphabet Book.
Background for the B page of The Alphabet Book, depicting numerous items beginning with the letter B.

A quirky poem about ‘Granddad’ (my father) who doesn’t have much hair, in fact we named the few that were left before I left home!

Written as a child see things, observationally.

This is the first full colour illustration that I produced specifically for a book.

I entered it into a competition for Julia Donaldson’s new book. Unfortunately it did not make it through to the final.

Unused illustrations for The Moon.

With other books in the series, these may still get used.

Roughly coloured sketch - preliminary idea for the inside covers of The Moon book. (Names for each phase - to be added.)

This illustration is designed as a continuation of a story for an ‘Illustration collaboration’ on Flickr (link will open in a new window).

This is an illustration for the 'X' page of an Alphabet book that I am working on as a collaboration of illustrators (we each picked a letter to illustrate).
